My name is Marta Prati. I am currently a Behavioural and Cognitive Neurosciences (BCN) student in the Molecular and Clinical track. My background is in Artificial Intelligence, with a minor in neuroscience. For my minor thesis, I am investigating the effects of (hyper)glycation on a diseased blood–brain barrier model of Alzheimer’s disease, under the supervision of Floris-Jan and Marina.
Neuroscience ultimately led me to change career paths. While AI focuses on building systems that resemble the brain, it often does so without fully understanding why certain outputs arise. Neuroscience, in contrast, is fundamentally about uncovering the why. I hope to pursue a career dedicated to answering such questions
