Matrix Organoid Lab

Feiyan Yang

I’m Feiyan, a PhD student under the supervision of Marina. My previous work explored how gene deletion affects hepatic function and disease progression, which sparked my interest in the mechanisms underlying liver ageing. For my PhD, I focus on generating artificially aged iPSC-derived liver organoids using a conditional CRISPR ON/OFF system to precisely control gene activity and model ageing-related phenotypes. Research often brings unexpected challenges, but, in the words of Dylan Thomas, “Do not go gentle into that good night,” approaching each obstacle with curiosity, persistence, and a drive to uncover what is yet unknown.
